Sat Bisla a British-Indian native of Wolverhampton, England and has had a multi-faceted career in the music industry-over the years he’s worked as a DJ (including an on-air stint at the tastemaking KCRW and Indie 103.1FM in Los Angeles), radio programmer (KKDJ “The Edge” Fresno, CA) club booker, artist manager (Rob Dougan, Kate Havenevik, Pilate Speed), A&R scout and/or consultant for Interscope, Atlantic, Epic, Columbia, Sony, Island, Warner Bros, Nettwerk (consulting for Dave Holmes who now manages Coldplay worldwide) and many others. He’s also been a club owner, booker, DJ and Radio Editor for the US radio and record industry trade magazines Album Network and VIRTUALLYALTERNATIVE…and that’s just for starters. After helping expose and/or develop such Platinum-selling artists as Dido, Keane, Faithless, Fatboy Slim, Ting Tings, Sam Sparro, Coldplay, Missy Higgins, The Temper Trap and many others for the American and/or worldwide audiences, Bisla truly started to hit his stride upon starting A&R Network, an innovative independent artist discovery and development platform that was acquired by the world’s largest radio broadcaster – Clear Channel Radio and live entertainment company Live Nation in 2001, where he assumed the worldwide role of Vice President for A&R Network.
Daniel Savage has a 20 year history of bridging the creative and commercial worlds- making deals and fostering relationships between them that furthered artists’ careers, leading to sales of 25 million records in the process. His unique combination of having formal training in both music and business gives him uncommon insight and allows him to travel easily and effectively in both environments. As General Manager of Madonna’s Maverick Records, he worked with such artists as Alanis Morissette, Michelle Branch and Deftones. He was also Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Synergy for the Walt Disney Company’s Hollywood Records, working extensively with ESPN, ABC, Radio Disney, Theme Parks, Buena Vista Pictures, and the Disney Channel. He has held executive positions at other major music companies including Island (Elton John, U2), Lava/Atlantic (Matchbox 20, Sugar Ray, Page/Plant), Mercury and PolyGram Group Distribution.
Doug has over 25 years of unique and diverse experience in the music business. A music consultant / talent buyer for Summerfest, an 11 day music festival (Milwaukee, WI), Doug has been instrumental in the growth of the festivals yearly attendance to over 900,000 patrons, making Summerfest the highest attended music festival in the United States. As an artist manager he has signed bands to Atlantic Records, Warner Bros. Records and DreamWorks. His diverse experience has been rounded out as a producer of large-scale events and as a leading expert on social media and the ever-changing music industry.
Detlef is the co-founder of the Reeperbahn Festival, Germany´s biggest club festival, and a partner and managing director of Inferno Events, a Hamburg public events agency, that designed and implemented corporate and public events such as Night of Knowledge, Hamburg Night of Theatre or German Unification Day 2008. His current focus is on the realisation of the Reeperbahn Festival Campus, the innovative conference and B2B networking platform for the music and live entertainment industry in Europe and most important gateway to the german music market.
Starting out her career working in venues when a student, Ellie then embarked on A&R for 7 years, working for Island then Fiction Records, signing White Lies and The Music. After realising that the development of artists was moving more towards management, she joined forces with Carrie Ridley starting Jigsaw Music Management a year ago, working with producer/writers. Ellie believes developing artists is all about working out their strengths then helping their weaknesses become their strengths, bringing in collaborators that can help enhance them.
Mark Gordon started Score Draw Music in 2004 to deliver music towards the moving image. In the last 7 years the company has been comissioned by all major broadcasters in the UK and many in the USA to deliver incidental and title music for projects that range from dramas to documentaries. Score Draw has also delivered music towards a range of brands including (in the last 12 months) Reebok, Lidl and Skoda.
Allan McGowan has some thirty years of experience in the advertising, music and entertainment industries. He has worked in record retail, and as a concert promoter, artist manager and booking agent for such companies as Chrysalis and Virgin, specialising in the arrangement of European tours. He set up and ran the successful Brighton based comedy club Wit’s End in the late 70’s and early 80’s. He has worked on music videos as a storyboard artist and produced and script edited for television, and is a music business journalist having contributed to various trade magazines including Audience, the major live music industry trade journal and the Performing Right Society members magazine, ‘M’. For 12 years he worked with international event and design company The Button Communications Group as an event producer, working on corporate entertainment for major clients and producing and programming both established and new talent showcase events for major media trade shows in Cannes,Hong Kong, Austin Texas and Cologne amongst others, being particularly responsible for the British At Midem Showcases. At present he is News Editor for Vip News, an on-line data and news service for the live music industry.
Deville Schober is the CEO of Brainstorm Music Marketing Corporation and runs the A&R Worldwide Office Germany. Brainstorm was founded in 1991 and has been the most successful independent Rock Promotion and Artist Development Company in Germany for more than 20 years. To date, Brainstorm has promoted hundreds of national and international artists on behalf of various record companies and independent labels. Excellent work has earned the company more than 25 gold and platinum albums, two Japan Music Expo Awards, German Culture Award, German Comet Award, Bravo Award, Jetrix Award, etc. Furthermore, Brainstorm also does promotional work for sport events, music events, national and international live tours and various movies. Having started out as a promotion company, Brainstorm now offers a wide range of services. The company includes an artist development label, an artist development company and a promotion and marketing department. The Promotion and Marketing Department is in charge of Radio, TV, Press, Online, Club, Street and Special Targeting Promotion. For all these activities Brainstorm can rely on its extensive pool of both national and international media contacts. In addition to the above-mentioned services, the finding and development of bands and artists is another core competency of Brainstorm Music Marketing. The company finds and prepares young talents for the music business (coaching, teaser-promotion, etc.) before presenting them to possible record labels.
Peter’s first career was as songwriter, performer and music producer in the early 1990’s. He moved into the broadcasting industry when he joined ITV’s Music Department in 1995. In 1997 he joined the BBC’s Music Copyright team and then became Rights Negotiation Manager responsible for all the BBC’s music licensing agreements across all TV, Radio, and new media platforms including the iPlayer, online streaming, podcasting and commercial products.

Andrea has done music supervision for film, television and online projects for over ten years. Credits include music documentaries such as Mayor Of The Sunset Strip, The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights and Butch Walker: Out Of Focus. Independent films such as (500) Days Of Summer, It’s Kind of A Funny Story, From Prada To Nada and Excision. And studio films such as Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and Chronicle. Television work includes The O.C., Grey’s Anatomy, Dollhouse and Stargate Universe and numerous MTV shows such as Run’s House and Life Of Ryan. She is currently working on the independent films The Secret Lives Of Dorks and I Am Ben in addition to the TV show Don’t Trust The B—- In Apt. 23 (ABC) and Wigs, an internet network web series.
Portmanteau is a UK based music licensing agency exclusively representing a range of European record labels, publishers and artists in order to place their music in audio-visual productions around the world. They represent both master and publishing copyrights in most cases and so can clear for use quickly and in ‘one-stop’. Placements include The Iron Lady and True Blood.
After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Commercial Music, Caroline worked at various record labels, including EMI and an indie subsidiary of Sony/BMG. The hub of Rage Music, Caroline works on all projects. She discusses briefs, organises schedules, budgets, contracts, sessions and musicians to ensure the smooth delivery of the music. Her musical tastes are truly eclectic, but she is a pop princess at heart. As well as heading up Rage Music, Caroline also sits on the board as a Director for the SMIA (Scottish Music Industry Association).
Thomas has an extensive background in marketing and operations in various sectors. Having worked for international companies in the cinema business as well as the software industry, he is now in charge of marketing and communications for the Rockhal in Luxembourg. SONIC VISIONS is the yearly music conference and showcase festival organised by the Rockhal thus combining its main activities as both concert promoter and Music & Resources center. SONIC VISIONS is the platform where the industry actually gets to meet the artist and vice-versa and will take place on 23/24 November this year.
Laura Brosnan, also known as Hyperfrank, specializes in UK underground music and culture. She’s well known for her love of raw and authentic sounds backed up by her straight forward honest opinions. She’s written for a wide range of publications including MTV, RWD, The Source, i-D Magazine, Diva and The Guardian. Passion for music has always been at the forefront with Laura – which is why she can consistently be seen supporting and writing about talent across the board – from chart toppers to acts at a grass root level. Her knowledge and love for music has seen her grace the pages of i-D, Disorder, feature on BBC 2′s No Hats No Trainers and voice her views on 1Xtra Discussions.
CJ Beatz is fast becoming the BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ to watch out for! Holding down the ‘The RnB M1X Show’ on Monday nights and waking up the nation every Sunday morning. You can also hear him on BBC Radio 1 for two hours hosting ‘The 1Xtra M1X’ every 6 weeks. As well as taking over the Radio one show at a time, CJ spins regularly in clubs up & down the UK. He has also been booked to play across the World in Cities including Beijing, Dubai, Skopje, Munich & Beirut.

From grime and UK rap to bassline and house (and even a bit of pop), Joseph ‘JP’ Patterson has played a vital part in promoting the UK’s underground music scene over the years by educating the uninformed masses with his no fuss, straight-to-the-point writing style. He is Editor of MTV’s The Wrap Up, Columnist for The GRAMMYs, Music Correspondent for BBC Radio 1, and that’s only the half of it!
Yaw is a talent manager, music promoter, youth culture specialist and entrepreneur.In regards to talent management, Yaw represents artists KOF and Virus Syndicate as well as national radio presenters Dev, Sacha & Ronnie Herel via the playmaker group. Yaw also promotes a number of music projects via playmaker PLUS. Over the past 6 months Yaw has worked on campaigns for Damian Marley, Estelle, Busy Signal, Lisa Maffia, Lady Leshurr, T.Mills, Yuna, KOF and Lea-Anna. Additionally Yaw has worked with a number of international brands including Nike, LRG and Trainerspotter and runs awarding winning youth culture company, URBEATZ.Yaw was the ex-label manager of A-List Records, which was owned by UK Grime Legend Wiley, and currently run the Nothin But The Music Label.

Garry Boyle is a first choice engineer for some of Scotland’s largest and most established recording facilities including Castlesound Studios and his own facility, The Depot Recording Studio, in Edinburgh. After graduating from University Garry became a freelance recording engineer and worked on any kind of recording project he could lay his hands on, including location recording with the BBC and The True North Orchestra. At around this time Garry became the assistant at Castlesound under Stuart Hamilton and quickly worked his way up to Engineer. 2011 and 2012 has seen Garry record, mix and produce records for some of Scotland’s top upcoming artists including Broken Records, The Banana Sessions, Stanley Odd, Michael MacLennan, Homework and Neil Primrose’ (Travis) upcoming new project as well as travel to the South of France for a week to hone his mixing skills with A-List Grammy Award winning Mix Engineer Michael H Brauer.
