We would like to invite you to our Honeycomb launch on 29th January 2014 on the Isle of Lewis where, in true goNORTH festival style, we have a day crammed with intensive workshops, industry talks, continuing professional development, film screenings, music showcasing and the launch of our partnership with Honeycomb.
Key is the networking opportunities you will have with a really wide range of industry guest speakers such as Adrian Cooke from Portmanteau, River City’s Libby McArthur, Synchronicity’s Claire Mundell, Producer and John MacKay, Director and animation companies from across the Honeycomb partnership.

Honeycomb Creative Works is a collaborative programme of developing networks of scale and skills targeted at the digital content sector across Northern Ireland, the six border counties of the Republic of Ireland and the western seaboard of Scotland. If you live in the target area, which is Argyll, Lochaber, Skye and Lochalsh you will qualify for financial help with travel and accommodation in order to attend goNORTH On The Road. How to be an Animator Claire Amond
EmuBands Operations Director, Stuart Stenhouse, will be discussing how to distribute your music to leading digital retailers such as iTunes, Spotify and Amazon MP3. Offering attendees a comprehensive overview of the process, the session will also look at strategies to maximise your releases on these services.
Stuart joined EmuBands whilst at University in 2007. Having developed an extensive and practical knowledge of digital distribution, Stuart has been invited to speak at a number of industry events across the UK and also provides lectures relating to digital distribution at Universities and Colleges across Scotland. Other experience also includes founding and running an independent record label.
Bafta nominated animators discuss their work and career path, and some hands on experience.
Keynote Speakers from Scotland: BAFTA nominated animators discuss and exemplify their work, career path and how to get into the industry. Once Were Farmers, UK animation company also contribute to discussion about making animation and how to earn a living.
Representatives from the Scottish Animation Network will also be on hand to speak to practitioners one-to-one.

Scottish Documentary Institute was set up in 2004 and is an internationally recognised documentary research centre at Edinburgh College of Art specialised in documentary training, production and distribution. In this session Flore will give you an insight into the programmes SDI are doing and how you can get involved. Flore Cosquer has years of experience working as production manager in France. She joined SDI in 2010 and co-ordinates SDI initiatives, including Interdoc and The Edinburgh Pitch. Flore is also involved in the production of Bridging the Gap, producing Nightshift and Registrars. She is now producing her first feature.
